Is it possible to show off a firm, luminous and toned face without going through surgery? Yes. It is achieved thanks to facial wood therapy, a natural treatment that is currently sweeping due to its surprising results.
Do you want to learn more about this technique, its benefits and how to apply facial wood therapy step by step? Well, keep reading because in this article you have all the answers.
What is facial wood therapy?
Facial wood therapy is a natural and non-invasive massage technique that is carried out using wooden instruments with the aim of toning and firming the face to achieve a rejuvenating and relaxing effect.
Wood massage acts on the skin by activating fibroblasts, which are responsible for producing more collagen and elastic fibers, accelerating the rejuvenation process and combating flaccidity.
In addition, the movements that are applied in facial wood therapy improve muscle tissue.
On the other hand, through this therapy we contribute to activating the lymphatic and circulatory system by oxygenating the skin, providing nutrients and eliminating toxins and fat (which tends to accumulate in certain parts of the face such as the double chin).
A variety of wooden instruments of various sizes and morphologies are used to apply facial wood therapy. These are the main tools I recommend to treat the face:
- Mini reducing mushroom: essential in the first phase of the massage.
- Mini embossed roller: indicated to get rid of fat and drain into the lymph nodes.
- Mini fluted roller: to activate blood circulation, as well as reduce and tone.
- Mini spherical roller: to lift and tone the eyelid area.
- Mini shaping board: to achieve a lifting effect on the face.
- Mini Swedish cup: allows you to lift and shape the facial oval in the last phase of the massage.
What are the benefits of facial wood therapy?
Surely by now you have been able to intuit several of the benefits of facial wood therapy, but there are many more. There they go!
How to apply facial wood therapy: step by step
Facial wood therapy can be applied both in self-massage and by an expert wood therapist to their clients. It is a treatment that is as popular with women as it is with men and each session lasts around 30-60 minutes depending on the patient’s needs.
The truth is that the results of facial wood therapy are evident from the first massage. The goals to be achieved are those that determine the duration of the treatment. My recommendation is a minimum of between 5 and 10 sessions that can be carried out 2 times a week.
How to perform a massage with wood therapy on the face
I am going to explain the protocol for the application of facial wood therapy step by step.
- Perform a facial cleansing using soap or cleansing milk, exfoliation and application of toner.
- Prepare the skin with argan oil to facilitate the treatment.
- Massage to activate the lymphatic system by lightly pumping the area under the ears and on the collarbones.
- Massage with circular movements using the mini reducing mushroom and focusing on the neck and jowl area. In this way we activate blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulate elastin and collagen. The time is determined by the wood therapist according to the patient and the objectives to be achieved.
- Apply massage with a fluted roller to warm, activate and exercise the muscles in the area. Make energetic movements up and down and on both sides, and affect those areas that are most worrying such as the double chin, dark circles, crow’s feet, eyelids, corners or forehead. This way you get rid of fat, smooth expression lines, exercise the muscles of the face, drain and shape the jaw.
- Massage with the smooth roller gently and at a slow pace to relax and seal the previous work. You can use the edge of the end of the roller to lift the eyelid area.
- With the mini shaping board, perform a draining massage of fluid and fat towards the nodes located in the neck area and under the ears. With this same instrument, he makes sideways movements to firm and elevate. You can also use the two-sphere roller for the area of dark circles and bags.
- Finish by performing a draining massage with the mini cup that allows you to absorb the fat and liquid and move it to the nodes to eliminate it through the lymphatic system. It affects the double chin area, cheekbones, forehead and eye contour (carefully because this area is very sensitive).
- Conclude the session with a manual massage to seal and finish draining. You can take the opportunity to apply a moisturizer or sunscreen.
Keep in mind that each patient is different. Therefore, the specific technique for applying facial wood therapy will vary depending on the objectives to be achieved and the needs of the client.
For example, if it has more fat, you should invest more time in the first phases to get rid of it, and if it is more liquid, focus on the last phases.
